The high-resolution flood hazard maps are used to determine which areas in the country are susceptible to floods and flash floods in case there is continuous heavy rainfall. While the installation of automated rain gauges and water level stations for 18 major river basins have been completed, more are constantly being deployed to enhance the country’s monitoring system.
